Just 30 Fair held in Museum Gardens to support Good News Campaign

A free sports and activities event was held in York to celebrate a city health initiative.

The Just 30 Fair was held in the Museum Gardens to support the Good News Campaign, launched in January.

The campaign encourages everyone to do 30 minutes of exercise a day. Research shows doing only 30 minutes of physical activity five times a week helps to reduce stress and encourages the production of endorphins.

Neil Gulliver, organiser of the Just 30 Fair, said visitors to the fair tested their skills at sports including Kendo, volleyball, basketball and orienteering. With more than 30 exhibitors on hand, the fair displayed the wide variety of activities on offer in the York area, from intensive fitness programmes at Body Fix in Riccall, to family fun at Creepy Crawlies, York’s children’s adventure playground near Clifton.
