THERE’S a touch of glamour and glitz at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.

From today to Thursday, the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, will be home to the Skipton Building Society Fashion Pavilion with four catwalk shows each day from Yorkshire designers.

The shows include the launch of a bespoke womenswear collection from professional clothier, Fiona Greene of Barnsley; prom dresses and womenswear from designer, Kevan Jon; eco-knitwear from Todmorden-based Makepiece, as well as budding designers from the region’s colleges and universities.

Tomorrow, the models will be joined on the catwalk by Olympic hopefuls including Harrogate fencer Caitlin Chang.

The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, will be the VIP guest today.

The three-day event is expected to attract between 125,000 and 130,000 visitors.
