Cycle rides offer something for everyone A NEW programme of guided cycle rides designed to encourage people across York to get pedalling will run for the next three months.

The activities, organised by Cycling City York, are for people of all ages and cycling abilities and will be free of charge, with most setting off from York.

However, some of the rides will be organised as awaydays, starting at Dalby Forest, near Pickering, on July 11, with transport being arranged for those who may have problems reaching the venue.

Paul Ramskill, of Cycling City York, said: “Some of the shorter rides take just 30 to 45 minutes to complete, so they are suitable for young children.

“There are intermediate rides for those who want to cycle a little further, as well as longer rides for more confident cyclists.

“People of all ages are welcome, but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
