London-born rapper Elliott Gleave, better known as Example, is back with his second album, now employing the services of top producers Calvin Harris, Chase & Status and Bjorn Yttling.

Gone are the hip-hop sounds of his debut, What We Made, to be replaced by electro/dance-pop beats that would fill any club. Now calling his style “chat” rather than rapping over a dance beat, some tracks are reminiscent of Dizzee Rascal.

Album versions of the singles Won’t Go Quietly and Watch The Sun Come Up typify the fast pace here, but Millionaires and Two Lives reveal a balladesque side to his patter. Top five single Kickstarts is already an anthem for the summer and next release Last Ones Standing has the same potential. Example in his prime.
