THOUSANDS of women have been running in today's Race for Life event in York.
Runners from across the region took part in the double race event to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The 5,400 women and girls of all ages who gathered on Knavesmire for the 10k and 5k runs are expected to have raised £340,000 for charity.
