THE father of missing York chef Claudia Lawrence says he hopes a documentary about her disappearance will trigger “somebody’s memory or somebody’s heart”.

Peter Lawrence gave details of the programme to be broadcast this summer as he took the hunt for his daughter to Glasgow, 15 months after she disappeared.

Mr Lawrence, 63, spoke at the city’s Central Station, where large screens next to the departure board showed a picture of the chef with the words: Where Are You?

The solicitor, from Slingsby, has already made appeals at railway stations in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

He said: “I never imagined that we would be here 15 months on. Sometimes it feels like an eternity, sometimes the day she disappeared feels like it was yesterday.

“We’ve come to Glasgow not because there’s any specific link but because we are going everywhere we can.

“I’ll never give up hope and I’ll never give up this campaign.”

Mr Lawrence said the half-hour documentary by Glasshead production company would be screened on Channel 4 in July or August.

He said: “It’s very moving. There are interviews not only with me but with Claudia’s sister, Ali, and close friends and there are scenes of the area where Claudia worked.

“Hopefully with its very wide audience it will trigger somebody’s memory or somebody’s heart.”

North Yorkshire Police have carried out a series of searches in connection with Claudia’s disappearance, which detectives are treating as a suspected murder inquiry.

Last month a team of about 20 officers, including divers, examined a house and the land around it in Ellerton village, East Yorkshire, about ten miles from Claudia’s home in Heworth. No arrests were made.
