Singers from York Opera getting in tune for 5k charity run

These singers from York Opera are taking part in R U Taking The P – the 5K run in aid of prostate and male cancers to be held in Rowntree Park, York.

The singing six will actually be strolling round belting out a few tunes from Ruddigore.

York Opera will be performing the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta in October at York Theatre Royal, but these men wanted to show their support for this event and what better way than singing for their sponsorship.

Co-organiser Brian Hughes: “I had hoped that I could get up to 1,000 men to sign up for this very important cause. Up to now I have only had 80 forms returned and the deadline for entries is Sunday, June 6.”

The run takes place on Sunday, June 20, at 10am.
