I wonder if all those who knock local politicians have ever stood for the council? I am sure they would be an improvement

"Top City of York Council jobs are allocated"

I thought this was a recycled headline from months back when the new directors were announced.
Wrong! Its the committee chairs for the year, for the elected council. So the strap line of the article is a little more accurate - "City of York Council committee jobs are allocated".

Please EP, getting your headline right makes so much difference!

Is there a more disliked person in local gov't than "The Master". Nobody ever has a good word for him.

It will be interesting to see how these fair as long as it doesn't go to their heads. Remember councillors, 'We will be watching you.'
