A MANAGER at Sessions of York is believed to have suffered a heart attack at the plant on Thursday morning, the day after the printing company was placed in administration.
Employees who turned up at the company’s Huntington Road site to fill in forms for statutory redundancy pay said a manager in the machine division of the business had been taken by ambulance to Leeds Hospital.
One man said: “It was tragic news and I think it was brought on by the stress. He had to deal with his team to go through everything with them and he had a massive heart attack.”
A female employee said: “It’s the stress of this situation and the fact that we’re not being paid. For that man it was too much to bear.
“We were all mortified when the ambulance came and we found out what had happened.”
