ONLINE integrity has been put at the centre of a North Yorkshire candidate’s campaign.

Jonathan Roberts, who is standing for Labour in the new Thirsk and Malton seat, has launched a website dedicated to openness, accountability and transparency in politics.

He claims integrityfirst.

org.uk may be the only site devised by any election candidate to focus on the integrity issue in the wake of the expenses scandal.

He said: “Politicians shouldn’t think that public anger has subsided. MPs of all parties have been involved in Parliamentary scandal and they have brought our democracy into disrepute.

“It is now the responsibility of each candidate to prove themselves not just in terms of policy, but in community activism and integrity too.”
