BUSINESS network to your heart's content - and raise funds for our Guardian Angels appeal at the same time.

York events company Top Occazzions is organising a charity "speed-networking" event which will enable business people can swap details to raise money for our campaign.

The event will run along the same lines as a speed-dating evening, with participants given a minute and a half to tell the person nearest them about their business.

When a whistle sounds, it will be the other person's turn to talk about their company.

Players will then be able to swap business cards and move on.

Organiser Anne Ma'aye, of Top Occazzions, said: "This works for people in business.

"They get a lot of contacts within that hour and a half. It gives you permission to talk about your business and not talk niceties."

All the proceeds from the evening will go to our Guardian Angels campaign, which aims to raise £300,000 to transform high-dependency paediatric care at York Hospital.

The money will improve life for the sickest children going into hospital and, where possible, ensure they can be treated in York.

It will fund two life-saving high-dependency rooms with new, specialised equipment.

The event is being held at 5.30pm, on March 27, at the Holiday Inn, in Tadcaster Road.

Places should be booked by Monday. Cheques should be made out to the Evening Press Guardian Angels appeal and sent to Anne Ma'aye, Mainstay, 16 New Forge Court, Haxby, YO323YA.

For further details, phone Anne on 01904 764452, or 0780 3616878.
