GOALKEEPER Alan Fettis finally ended speculation over his York City future this afternoon by signing a new contract.

The announcement, as predicted in the Evening Press last week, is a massive boost to York boss Terry Dolan and the City faithful.

Fettis, signed from Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season on a short-term contract, became a big hit with the fans as he recorded nine clean sheets in just 13 appearances.

The 29-year-old Northern Ireland shot-stopper had been reluctant to commit himself to City, fearing it would harm his international chances.

However, after weighing up his options over the summer Fettis is believed to have put pen to paper on a three-year contract.
