After weeks of injury woe, York City manager Terry Dolan could celebrate a triple whammy today.

Kevin Hulme, Wayne Hall and John Williams all came through last night's reserve team 2-0 triumph over Blackpool at Bootham Crescent unscathed.

Midfielder Hulme, out for more than a month with a hamstring injury, played 45 minutes before being withdrawn - suggesting he could be in Dolan's thoughts for Saturday's derby duel with Hull City.

Left-back Hall managed 60 minutes as he recovers from a thigh strain while striker-cum midfielder John Williams appears to have shaken off a calf injury by completing 80 minutes.

The hat-trick of good news comes on the day teenage midfielder Christian Fox was set to have surgery to repair a torn knee cartilage that could rule him out for up to six weeks.

Already on the sidelines are defenders Gary Hobson, Peter Swan and Chris Fairclough with striker Peter Duffield out for the season with a broken leg.

Notable spectators last night at Bootham Crescent were former City boss Neil Thompson, now in charge at neighbours Scarborough, and his assistant, Ray McHale.

City's goals were scored by transfer-listed Barry Conlon and James Turley, who both scored twice in the reserves last outing, a 4-0 triumph over Wigan.

Conlon opened the scoring on four minutes, side-footing home a Colin Alcide flick-on of a Williams' throw-in.

Turley, playing out wide on the left of midfield, had to wait until stoppage time before making his mark with a fine individual goal, skipping past a couple of challenges before firing home a low shot into the corner.

* City's intermediates will face Darlington in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

The Quakers' youngsters beat Hartlepool 4-1 after extra-time in their first round replay and will have home advantage for the visit of the young Minstermen to Feethams on Wednesday, November 1, kick-off 7.30pm.
