CITY will be offering free admission to schools, junior football clubs and other youth organisation for the upcoming European Under-16 Championship matches being staged at Bootham Crescent.

As reported in the Evening Press, Holland take on Poland on Wednesday, April 25, before tackling Russia on Friday, April 27.

Bootham Crescent will also be the venue for one leg of the quarter-finals on Monday, April 30 when the Winner of Group D will play the runner-up of Group B. Both games kick-off at 6.30pm.

The tournament games at York were launched by the Football Association with a little help from City's Yorkie the Lion mascot, who was assisted by youngsters Jimmy and Matthew Snowdon.

Tickets are now on sale and can be reserved in advance by telephoning the York City ticket office on 01904 624447. Tickets are priced £3 for adults.
