Promotion and relegation issues are still in the melting pot after the latest round of games in the Leeper Hare York and District League lower divisions.

South Bank could only manage a point from their home game against Malton Bacon Factory and their slim chance of hanging on to second place in division one now seems to have gone.

They now have to win their last game and hope Riccall and Haxby lose all their games in hand.

Mark Belleh gave South Bank a first-half lead which was equalised on the stroke of half time and neither side could make a second-half breakthrough as the game finished 1-1.

Nestl Rowntree were given a contest by a relegation threatened Fulford side who defended resolutely until the second 'Tree goal went in after 70 minutes.

John Alcock opened the scoring for 'Tree when he netted from the penalty spot in the 25th minute and James Gore made the points safe with the second.

Riccall won the derby at home to Thorpe United 3-1 with a two-goal burst in the second half.

Alan Jackson scored a first-half goal for the hosts but the visitors levelled before the break. Jackson hit his second and Mark Westmoreland sealed the points after the restart.

When goal difference is taken into account, realistically Riccall now have four games to take the nine points needed for the title and the three which should see them clinch second place. However, with their remaining opponents including Nestl Rowntree, St John's College and Haxby Town they still have work to do.

Haxby kept their faint hopes of promotion alive with a 2-0 win against Barmby Moor, who now need to win their last two games - and hope their nearest rivals lose their matches - to avoid relegation.

Matthew Stericker opened the scoring when he volleyed home a Lee Tutill cross in spectacular fashion and on the half hour Tutill miscued another cross which deceived the Barmby 'keeper and found the net.

The top game in division two pitched first and second, Hammerton and Huby, against each other.

It was Huby who triumphed 3-2 to take over pole position with goals from Lee Goodwin (2) and Andrew Metcalfe.

Heworth ensured safety with a 5-1 win at home to Heslington - David Bonner (2), Gareth Sul-livan (2), and Paul Flint scoring.

Stillington and Stamford Bridge produced an entertaining game with Simon Stancliffe giving Stamford a first-half lead.

Wayne Linton netted a spectacular 40-yard equaliser only for Sam Brown to net an 80th-minute winner for Stamford Bridge who remain in third place with a realistic chance of snatching a promotion spot if either of the top two slip up.
