YOUR article about Peter Bleach ('Jailed smuggler loses his appeal', July 24) said in the first line he is a smuggler, and smuggling is against the law. So just because he is from dear old Yorkshire why should everyone be defending him?
You can understand that his mother would, as most mothers do, but the government; the Evening Press? He is smuggling arms into countries in order to kill people, and small arms are one of the biggest indiscriminate killers, killing many innocent civilians.
In my eyes anyone doing that deserves to be jailed.
