Selby'S hopes of a cup and league double were dashed in the NatWest Bank under-15 Championship final.

The dream began to fray as soon as Acomb first change bowler David Copley came on with Selby on 60 for one, and on course for victory through Matt Hoyle 22 James Dilks 29.

They were comfortably chasing an Acomb total of 123-3, which had been well built by Leon Sacks 51 no and James Bradbury 28.

Copley proceeded to take five wickets for 11 runs in his five overs, well supported by Alister Carbery's five overs for ten runs, to shatter Selby who finished on 85-8.

That ensured Acomb won the championship for the first time in 20 years. Bob Wright of the National Westminster Bank made the presentation to a jubilant Acomb team.

In the Yorkshire Sheeting Supplies U13 Championship final York turned the tables on Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who beat them in the cup final last week.

Inspired bowling by Ben Horseman 3-12 and Matt Thomas 2-3 restricted the Bridge to 61-8 out of which only Adam Blair with 26 showed any resistance.

David Heaton with 25 and Ian Jarvis 32 then made the 62 required without loss to give York a commanding victory.

The PK Accommodation 40 over Cup Final on Sunday will be at Stillington Cricket Club (2pm start) between Stamford Bridge and Dunnington, who won the rain delayed semi-final against Woodhouse Grange by ten wickets.

Dunnington dismissed Grange for 91, Mike Noble proving the principal destroyer with 7 for 9.

Jack Bolam 25 and Ben Hough 52 knocked off the required runs.
