BIG-hearted bikers have brought some Easter cheer to young residents of a York care home.

The bikers, all members of York Motorcycle Action Group (YMAG), raised funds through the year to buy a selection of Easter eggs and £150 cash.

They then met at the Bay Horse pub, in Marygate, to drive in convoy to the Glen Respite Care Home for children in Clifton and hand out the goodies.

The £150 will be spent on equipment for the home, which has about 70 residents.

Most have learning or physical difficulties.

YMAG political officer Roger Parkes said: "The home does a lot of excellent work and we wanted to do something to help them out.

"We have enjoyed doing it. A lot of people see a large group of bikers and think 'Hell's Angels' or 'criminals', but these people with loud exhaust pipes and black visors are human beings and like doing things for the community."
