Dringhouses gained revenge for their recent Leeper Hare York and District League defeat against Pocklington by beating them 2-1 in the League Senior Cup semi-final.

They will now meet Borough-bridge, conquerers of Osbald-wick, in the final.

It was Pocklington's first defeat of the season and ends their hopes of a league and cup double.

Pock did not create one worthwhile scoring chance until five minutes from time when Aaron Craggs netted with a speculative 50-yard lob which caught Dringhouses' keeper Jamie Backhouse off his line to set up a tense finale.

Dringhouses were 2-0 up and playing keep ball and, despite this surprise goal, had little difficulty in holding out.

John Lake headed Dringhouses into the lead after 15 minutes when he was left unmarked at the far post and met a right wing cross to give goalkeeper Carl Silburn no chance.

Only two great saves from Silburn and a missed sitter prevented Dringhouses from wrapping things up before half-time.

Lake glanced home another right wing cross on the hour to put Dringhouses in total command until the last-gasp contribution from Craggs gave Pocklington a glimmer of hope.

Osbaldwick, from division one, took Boroughbridge into extra time in the other semi-final before their premier division class told.

Olly Uffindall opened the scoring for Boroughbridge but Andy Triffitt levelled and James Whalen put the first division side in front on the hour, before Uffindall equalised to send the tie into extra time.

Duncan Quick put Borough-bridge back in front in the first period and Uffindall completed his hat-trick to set up an all-premier division final on May 15 at York RI.

In the one League Junior Cup semi-final, Copmanthorpe's league form deserted them at Heslington where they fell to Danny Walter's 20th-minute goal.

Heslington could even afford the luxury of missing a second-half penalty.

In the outstanding third round tie, T&L Selby progressed to a semi-final encounter with Moor Lane onApril 20 after a 2-0 win over Haxby & Wigginton thanks to a Paul Tanton overhead kick and a Martin Nee free-kick from the touchline which bounced over everybody into the net.

Haxby & Wigginton came closest to scoring when a 25-yard thunderbolt free-kick from Steve Sullivan struck a post.

Both Reserve Cup semi-finals produced the same 4-1 scoreline.

Kartiers took the lead after ten minutes at Old Malton but a 40th-minute Dave Bradshaw penalty levelled. Paul Boyes put Old Malton ahead on the hour mark, substitute Sam Lander increased their lead with his first touch and two minutes from time Phil Marwood completed the scoring.

The match between Osbald-wick and Malton Bacon Factory, both Reserve 'B' sides, went into extra time before Osbaldwick won 4-1.

Chris Bell put the Factorymen ahead but Mark Crangle's goal sent the game into overtime. Crangle scored again in the first period of extra time and as Factory pressed forward they were caught on the break as Paul Adamson and Mark Corner increased Osbaldwick's lead.

A York and District Select XI beat Pickering Town XI 3-1 at New Lane with Boroughbridge striker Olly Uffindale and his midfield clubmate Mark Dickinson (2) netting for the Select XI. Dale netted the the Pikes, who had the better of the first half.
