A YORK dance student who achieved success in an important exam only six months after breaking a bone in her foot is set to continue her dancing career in style.
Determined Rosie Pethullis, 15, of Acomb Road, York, is to take up a three-year scholarship at the Northern Ballet School, Manchester, in September.
Rosie, who has studied at the Paticia Veale School of Ballet and Modern Dance since the age of four, took a tumble down some stairs in May last year, the week she was taking her ballet examinations, and was on crutches for two weeks.
However she gained distinction in her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Foundation exam when she eventually took it in November.
Rosie is also set to play the lead in Pinocchio, at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, on May 11, in aid of The Red Cross charity.
