HAVING consolidated their position at the top of the Yorkshire ECB Premier League with a convincing win over Rotherham last week, York face a much sterner task when they entertain Castleford on Saturday.

The West Yorkshire club have two matches in hand on the Clifton Park side as a result of vandalism to their ground. They are currently nine points adrift, but with a win worth at least six points, they are real championship contenders.

Like York, they are an all-round outfit with no real star players, but they bat down the order and have good variety to their bowling attack.

York enter this contest without skipper Nigel Durham for whom John McGrady is a more than useful replacement. Leg-spinner Tom Pringle is away on a school trip and Will Warne steps up to strengthen the batting.
