Businesses in York who are letting employees cheer on Team GB hopefuls in the Olympic Games are being warned they could be "for the high jump" themselves as TV Licensing threatens a crackdown on unlicensed businesses.
TV Licensing's inquiry officers have been on the streets of York during the Games making sure local businesses are properly licensed.
Evaders could face a trip to court and a fine of up to £1,000.
A spokesperson, said: "Our database of more than 28 million addresses shows us which properties are unlicensed, and we will be visiting them during the major events."
