HARROGATE Town's overnight stay in Barrow paid off with a comfortable passage to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Two first half strikes and a second half own goal ensured an easy 3-0 win at Holker Old Boys to earn a place in today's draw.

Dominic Krief got his first for the club on 15 minutes following good work by midfielder Colin Hunter, moments after watching another chance go wide.

On-loan Hull City striker Clayton Donaldson then made it two after taking down a quality Leigh Wood cross-field pass and beating the unfortunate keeper.

Donaldson was also at the heart of the third goal. His 57th minute run into the danger area was well blocked, but the ball was then bundled into the back of the net by another Holker defender.

Selby Town climbed up the Northern Counties East Premier Division table after a 3-1 win over Glapwell at Flaxley Road.

The Robins struggled to get going in the first half and Glapwell deserved to be in front at half time with Darren Roberts scoring for the visitors after nine minutes. Selby clicked in to gear in the second half and were level after 54 minutes when an Andrew Dawson cross was finished off by Jason Harris.

The Robins took the lead ten minutes later when a Cameron Stuart cross was turned in to his own net by Aaron Shelley and in the 74th minute, Tom Matthews set up Chris Kamara to fire in a shot from 15 yards to wrap up the game.

Matt Howgate scored after just 20 seconds to set Tadcaster Albion up for a sixth successive Northern Counties East League division one win.

The league leaders dominated the match after Howgate's simple tap-in got them off the mark, and Danny Pitts doubled the lead a minute into the second half, his 30-yard free-kick flying in like a rocket.

Pontefract pulled one back in the last few minutes to give the Brewers an unnecessarily nervy end to the game, but Jim Collis's men held out for the win to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Pickering Town slipped to a 3-0 home defeat against Thackley that keeps them 11th in the table, and Harrogate Railway clawed back another win to lift them to 13th in the premier division table.

Andy Shuttleworth rattled the net first on 27 minutes before former-Town man Robbie Whellans and Scott Bairstow put the tie well beyond doubt in the second half.

Strong-starting Goole suffered their first league defeat of the season at Buxton to take them down to second place.

Mark Reed and Jon Froggatt scored in the 62nd and 80th minutes for the hosts and, even though Graeme Whitehead closed the gap with one after 81 minutes, it wasn't enough to engineer a change to the result.
