BISHOPTHORPE'S first Reserve 'B' league game of the season saw them overcome a a young Barmby Moor side 5-2.
Bishops' player-manager John Broadbent netted twice as did Tony Handford and they were helped by an own goal. Goals from John Schofield and Phil Harper could not stop Barmby slipping to their third consecutive defeat.
Thorpe won at Nestl Rowntrees 4-3 for the second year running. A Mike Emmett hat-trick and a Mark Cahill strike put the division 'B' visitors well on their way but Ken Davies from the spot and goals from Danny Franklin and Steve Fratson ensured a frantic finale.
Easingwold and Stamford Bridge drew 1-1 -- Kev Smith scoring for Stamford and Mathew Thackeray equalising five minutes from time.
Tim McIlroy celebrated his transfer to Wigginton Grasshoppers with a debut goal in their derby match at Haxby but it could not prevent the home side winning 4-1 with goals from Philip Benson, Simon Rycroft and Mike Taylor (2).
