AWARD-WINNING architects' firm Crease Strickland Parkins has claimed another top prize at the Ryedale Design Awards ceremony in Malton.

The practice, at Bishopsgate House, Skeldergate Bridge, York, received the accolade for the conversion and extension of a group of derelict farm buildings into a private house.

Judges commended the design for the way the house exploited the spectacular views from the site and the contemporary response to the character of the local environment.

The property boasts an 11-metre, four-lane indoor swimming pool with a gym and jacuzzi and a family suite at first-floor level, complete with a glazed roof terrace, which commands a 180-degree view across the North York Moors.
