All Northern Counties East League eyes will be on the second round of the league cup this weekend with all five teams from the area facing division one opposition.

Premier division Pickering Town are in action against mid-table Parkgate with recent signing Joe Gaughan scheduled to be on board for his second start after making an impressive debut against former club Selby Town.

Gaughan had been at Liversedge most recently, but was the league's top scorer at Selby for most of last season.

Manager Alex Mathie said: "I've not yet decided the team but it will probably be similar to Tuesday night.

"Every cup match is like a cup final and hopefully we can get through to the next round. I'm looking forward to it, but it's not going to be easy."

Top-of-the-table Goole have imported fresh blood to their midfield ahead of their clash at division one side Lincoln Moorlands in the shape of 28-year-old midfielder Troy Bennett.

The former Barnsley, Gainsborough and Barrow player has arrived from Frickley, and manager Paul Marshall is looking forward to seeing him in action.

He said: "He's got a lovely left foot and I'll be getting him straight into the team for Saturday. I'm looking to strengthen things and freshen up the team a bit."

A week of first-class performances from his side, including Tuesday's fourth match against Glasshoughton Welfare in just over two weeks, has left Marshall with something of a headache with only Dean Wilson ruled out by suspension. Youngster Danny Fells in goal is one who could keep his place despite Chris Hill's availability after suspension.

Marshall said: "I have always said that if people do well then they keep their places which means that I might have to leave some people out."

James Featherstone is still unavailable for Harrogate Railway's visit from South Normanton Athletic but Graham Marchant could feature.

Last season's top reserve team scorer started brightly for the Rail's premier division side this season but has been out in recent weeks through injury and holiday.

But tomorrow's cup game is seen as an ideal opportunity to get Marchant - and a few of the other habitual bench-warmers - back in action by boss Martin Haresign.

Selby Town host lowly Rossington Main from division one aiming to stave off an upset and reach the third round.

Tadcaster Albion face a tough ordeal with fourth-in-the-table Gedling Town arriving to put straight Albion's league away win from a few weeks back.

But Jim Collis's men have been bolstered by the return of long-term injured pair Paul James and Dave Watson.

Both played for the reserves last Saturday and James shone in Tuesday's league defeat in his first full competitive match for the Brewers after being forced out of the first three months of the term.

Matty Howgate will also be back in contention.
