The Best Western Monkbar Hotel claims to have secured the first free hotel broadband and wireless service in York.

Free internet will be available from now on to all the hotel's business guests.

Each customer will be given a password, which will provide free, unlimited access to the internet, as well as assurance about the security safety of the service.

"Lap top free zones" will also be set up in designated areas for those visiting the hotel for leisure and for those preferring to leave their laptop behind.
