Drama as fire starts in pub kitchen at The Windmill, in Blossom Street, York

THIS was the scene at a city centre pub after it was evacuated when fire broke out in its kitchen.

Three appliances from York and Acomb were called to the blaze at The Windmill, in Blossom Street, shortly before 7pm last night.

Firefighters spent an hour-and-a-half clearing the scene and said there had been smoke damage to the property.
