Romney Arthur Perkins, 92, of Rockingham Avenue, Tang Hall, York, died on February 23, 2009, of a subdural haematoma.
The inquest heard Mr Perkins had previously recovered from several heart attacks and strokes, but had fallen on at least two occasions in the months leading up to his death.
