AN ARMED raider threatened a York car park attendant with a knife and punched him in the face before making off with cash this morning.
The incident happened at 6am in the Tanner Row car park and police are now appealing for information to help catch the man.
DC Lee Boyeson, of York CID, said the victim was “shocked and upset” following his ordeal.
He said: "I am appealing to anyone who was near the car park at the time of the incident to think back and see if they remember anyone acting suspiciously.
“It was quite early in the morning but people may have been on their way to work or on their way home from a night shift and could have seen something that will help the investigation."
The raider is described as white, around 6ft tall with a stocky build. He was dressed in a black jacket, black jeans and black shoes and was wearing a balaclava and gloves which were also black.
Anyone with information is asked to call DC Boyeson on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12100042352.
