A NEW business headquarters andsupermarket look set to be built in York after city leaders backed the projects.
A council planning committee has this afternoon granted permission for laser firm MDL to open headquarters at Northminster Business Park at Poppleton.
It also backed an application by budget supermarket chain Lidl to open a store on the former Edmund Wilson Swimming Pool site in Thanet Road.
MDL's plan will bring about 40 new jobs to York initially, and could mean an additional 100 in six years. Lidl's plan will create about 25 jobs.
