Advice and services available for brides-to-be at wedding exhibition

BRIDES-TO-BE planning their big day in 2010 will have a record number of stalls to browse at a free wedding fair this weekend.

More than 70 wedding-related businesses will converge at York Racecourse on Sunday to offer advice and services on everything from confetti and cakes to bouquets and bridal wear.

The Yorkshire Living Brides Wedding Exhibition will also feature two professionally choreographed fashion shows featuring clothes for the happy couple, bridesmaids, page boys and the bride’s mother.

Sunday’s show follows on from the success of the autumn event which saw more than 1,000 visitors gather at Knavesmire.

Alison Wytchwood, a sales executive with The Press and Yorkshire Living magazine, and the organiser of Sunday’s show, said: “The event is getting quite a reputation now. I get people phoning me asking if they can exhibit and I’m having to turn them away.”

Alison said Sunday’s exhibitors would include a company which offers a crèche service at weddings and also a wedding planner, who will organise your big day if the pressure is all getting to much.

She said: “We haven’t done anything this big before and it’s nice to know we are getting the reputation as the best show of this kind in the area.”

Yorkshire Living Brides show includes free entry and parking and takes place between 11am and 4pm at York Racecourse.

The two catwalk shows start at noon and 2pm.
