A 73-year-old woman driver was trapped in her car and had to be cut free by firefighters after a head-on collision near Sherburn-in-Elmet.
The woman was the only occupant of a Ford car that was in collision with a Vauxhall Corsa, which was being driven by a man who was on his own. Firefighters from Tadcaster spent ten minutes cutting the elderly woman free from the wreckage and she was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up.
The incident happened in Copley Lane between Sherburn-in-Elmet and Aberford, shortly after 12.30pm on Saturday.
