Woman, 73, is cut free after Sherburn-in-Elmet crash

A 73-year-old woman driver was trapped in her car and had to be cut free by firefighters after a head-on collision near Sherburn-in-Elmet.

The woman was the only occupant of a Ford car that was in collision with a Vauxhall Corsa, which was being driven by a man who was on his own. Firefighters from Tadcaster spent ten minutes cutting the elderly woman free from the wreckage and she was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up.

The incident happened in Copley Lane between Sherburn-in-Elmet and Aberford, shortly after 12.30pm on Saturday.

Is there any chance this could be the same "elderly" woman that drove the wrong way up the A64? This story reports says Ford Car, the other story says Ford Fiesta. Im seeing a pattern her!
