The funds for repairing the routes were confirmed in City of York Council’s recent budget for 2010/11, with the largest chunk of cash being the £98,000 earmarked for improving part of Elvington Lane.
Elsewhere, £70,000 will be spent on resurfacing Stray Road and £17,000 on a stretch of Stockton Lane. Other roads targeted for work are Acorn Way in Woodthorpe (£55,000), part of York Road in Dunnington (£61,000), Heath Moor Drive in Fulford (£50,000) and Bootham Row (£40,000).
Another £188,000 will be devoted towards seven pathway repair schemes, including at Carr Lane in Acomb, Acorn Way, St Giles Road in Skelton, Sim Balk Lane in Bishopthorpe and Lendal Bridge. A £400,000 combined package is scheduled for other patching and drainage work on various other roads.
