THE chaos and absurdity of war will be played out in York through the memoirs of Spike Milligan in Adolf Hitler: My Part In His Downfall.
The play which will be performed from March 16 to March 20 at the York Theatre Royal is an adaptation of Milligan’s four books of military memoirs.
Featuring comedy, drama and musical numbers, the production will reminisce upon Milligan’s famous two-fingered response to the war and the comradeship and humour which helped Milligan through his hardest times, when he was stripped of his military rank and admitted to psychiatric hospital.
Cast members were in York city centre yesterday performing songs from the show.
