York’s Army Cadet Force marks the youth organisation’s 150th birthday

MEMBERS of the York’s Army Cadet Force are marking the youth organisation’s 150th birthday.
Yorkshire will celebrate the anniversary year at a sports day joined by the Sea Cadets Corps and the Air Training Corps.
The Cadet 150 event, at the John Charles Centre in Leeds on April 24, is expected to attract about 2,000 people.
Cadets will compete in athletics, hockey and tug-of-war. Other attractions will include a performance by the corps of drums, a zip wire, climbing tower, laser challenge, obstacle course and gladiator duel. It will also feature food and refreshment stands. There will be a military parade in the evening and cadets will receive their awards from the day’s sporting events.
