PUPILS across York took part in the first-ever modern foreign languages day at Yearsley Grove Primary School.
The French Fun Day event was co-ordinated by students from York St John University.
Year Five pupils from Wigginton, Bishopthorpe and St George’s RC Primary Schools joined their counterparts at Yearsley Grove for the event. Children took part in four scenarios, which included being in a French supermarket, travel agency, pet shop and the jungle.
Students from Huntington School also assisted at the event by serving croissants that pupils dipped in chocolate, provided they could order in French. Kathryn Barge, a pupil at Wigginton Primary School, said: “The day was amazing.”
