A CHARITY event to raise funds for Refuge – which supports women and children at refuges across the country – is to be held in York with the aiming of teaching people to think positively about themselves.

The personal development event is to be held at the Royal York Hotel, which has donated use of its facilities, tomorrow at 6.30pm. It is being organised by Victoria Havercroft, a lifestyle coach whose motto is Creating Confident Women Through Coaching.

Victoria said: “I am inviting both men and women to celebrate what can be achieved with a positive mindset, and will include a mini success seminar.”

The evening will include comedy with York comedian James Christopher, a fashion show with Elizabeth Wells and One Ethical Boutique, stalls, a raffle and more. The hosts will be Rob Buck and Edd Moran, of UK Event Hosts Tickets cost £10 on the door. For advance bookings, phone Victoria on 07525 203722 or email victoria@victoriahavercroft.com The event was originally going to raise funds for IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Service), but the North Yorkshire advice service decided to withdraw from the event. Now funds raised will go to Refuge instead.

Victoria said: “I am delighted to announce that I will continue to hold a personal development workshop to be a voice for domestic abuse by donating all proceeds to Refuge.”
