FLOWER fans have the chance to get festive with the Lord Mayor of York on Thursday.
Tickets are still available to enjoy an evening of wine, canapés and guitar music in York’s historic Mansion House, which will be sumptuously decorated for Christmas with flowers.
The event will take place the day before the 18th century building is opened to the public for a three-day flower festival, offering guests the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the floral displays.
It will also be a chance to meet the Lord Mayor of York, Coun John Galvin, and raise funds for his chosen good causes - York Against Cancer and Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Workshop in Bishopthorpe.
Tickets cost £20, with all proceeds going to his charities. They are available from the civic office at the Guildhall on 01904 551049. Doors open at 7.30pm.
During the rest of the festival, which will run from Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29, the Mansion House will be open from 10am to 5pm.
A £5 entry fee will be payable on the door and all proceeds will go to the Lord Mayor's charities.
