A NURSE working at an East Riding of Yorkshire care home has won a prestigious award.

Stephanie Bates, of the Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home, picked up the Care Newcomer accolade at the Great North Care Awards.

Stephanie was selected from four other finalists to win the category, which recognises excellence from a new member of staff in the care sector.

Sue Cartwright, general manager at Stamford Bridge Beaumont, said: “I am so proud of Stephanie. It’s such a great achievement that she has won this award – a true testament to her dedication to the people who live here.” Stephanie said: “I am proud to say I am a nurse who cares and strives to develop in all areas, to provide great care through and with the help of a great team.”
