PUDSEY Bear and friends joined together to raise funds for Children In Need as fun events took place throughout York, North and East Yorkshire.

Radio York hosted a busking event at York Station and those taking to the platform included Black Lace, who performed Agadoo, as well as local favourites Huge.

At York Orthodontics, in Marygate, a James Bond theme was adopted, with the orthodontist dressing up as 007 and the other staff transforming themselves into Bond girls. Staff at Skipton Building Society in York also dressed as Bond girls.

Last night, staff at Liliput Day Nursery, in Nether Poppleton, York, were preparing to stay the night as part of a sponsored “sleepover”, raising about £250. It was the culmination of a week of activities at the nursery, where the children and staff baked cakes, dressed up and had their faces painted.

Children at schools and nurseries throughout the region donned fancy dress, while at the Asda store at Monks Cross, staff took part in a sponsored stepathon.
