CHILDREN were given a lesson with a message from community police officers.

PCSO Kim Copestake and PSCO Chris Pitchford visited Haxby Road Primary School to launch the “say no to people you don’t know” campaign to Year Two and Three pupils from schools in Clifton.

They took part in an interactive lesson, teaching them about what to do if they are approached by a stranger.

The pupils were then given a goody bag, carrying the project’s slogan, containing a water bottle, ruler, crayons and a colouring book. PCSO Copestake said: “The session went really well and we hope that it was able to get this important message across to the children.”
