Climate campaigners raise awareness of global warming with 'big wave' outside York Minster

CAMPAIGNERS were feeling blue as they tried to raise awareness of global warming and the fight against it.

People dressed in blue and surrounded York Minster on Saturday morning, as part of the International Day of Climate Action. It was to highlight Christian support for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, happening in December in Copenhagen.

The Wave – a ring of people wearing blue to symbolise the key role of the world’s oceans in the conservation of the environment – was co-ordinated by a coalition of organisations including the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD) and Christian Aid.

The 30-second video (not inc the EDF energy advert front and back) had only about 0.5 seconds of the actual wave. I think the pulitzer chances are knackered for yet another year!

Maybe they should have gone on to the Shambles afterwards, repeated it, and spoiled lots of tourists' photos?
