Overturned lorry blocks York's A1237 outer ring road near Poppleton Park

A lorry driver was taken to York Hospital after his wagon overturned on the city's bypass.

The accident happened at the Poppleton Park roundabout at about 8.10am today.

Police, firefighters and medics rushed to the scene and the A1237 was sealed off.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was also called but not used.

The road remains partially closed.
