Lakeside Primary School won the York Tag Year 6 Finals day held as a curtain-raiser to York City Knights’ Championship One game against Blackpool at Huntington Stadium.
As reported by The Press, 15 schools from across the York district had qualified through heats for the finals.
Lakeside will now represent the York district in the Leeds Trinity North Yorkshire Youth games which will be held later this year.
The Knights community team are now looking forward to the next major primary school tournament, which is the Year 6 Girls Tag Festival on Thursday, June 25, prior to the Knights’ big game against Oldham – which will be shown live on Sky Sports.
