MORE than 15,000 people have now joined a Facebook group appealing for help in finding missing York chef Claudia Lawrence.
The group, called Missing Person – Claudia Lawrence, was set up on the social networking site by one of Claudia’s friends, Melanie Harrison.
Nearly 300 messages of support have been posted on the website, including these:
Tracey Peabody wrote: “Someone must know something. Do the decent thing and come forward. I hope it’s good news for her family and she is found safe and well.”
Annette Taylor-Schofield wrote: “We knew Claudia from earlier times when she lived in Malton and she was always a lovely, genuine, warm-hearted girl without a bad word for anyone. There are many who knew her then who are shocked and wishing her speedy return to her family safe and well.”
Chris Dutton wrote: “I hope they find Claudia. I feel that time is running out, but I do hope there will be a happy outcome. Someone must have some information – nobody just vanishes into thin air without someone seeing something.”
Torrie Haley Lloyd-Adams wrote: “I really hope they find her and she’s alright. She’s one of the friendliest catering staff at university and always ready to help. My thoughts are with her and her family just now.”
Linda Jane Hall wrote: “I am thinking about Claudia most of the time. Living so close and visiting York frequently, it is so close to home. Something like this seems so unlikely to happen in a place like York. I do hope things turn out positively. I can’t even comprehend what Claudia’s family are going through. My thoughts are with them all.”
