Woman cyclist hurt in collision with van

A WOMAN cyclist was taken to hospital after a Christmas Eve collision between a bicycle and a van on a York road.

The crash happened just before 8am.

Part of Heworth Green, near Dodsworth Avenue, and Mill Lane, was blocked for a short time as police and paramedics were called to the scene to help the cyclist, who was in her 30s.

A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The incident was reported to us just after 8am on Christmas Eve.

“The accident involved a female cyclist and a white Ford Transit van.

“The woman was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries to her knee and a graze to her cheek.”

The accident did not cause any major traffic disruption.

You mean they didn't close the road for 79 hours in order to carry out a fingertip forensic examination to gather the necessary evidence to charge the van driver with causing Paul Hepworth to get excited by dangerous driving?
