A WOMAN cyclist was taken to hospital after a Christmas Eve collision between a bicycle and a van on a York road.
The crash happened just before 8am.
Part of Heworth Green, near Dodsworth Avenue, and Mill Lane, was blocked for a short time as police and paramedics were called to the scene to help the cyclist, who was in her 30s.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The incident was reported to us just after 8am on Christmas Eve.
“The accident involved a female cyclist and a white Ford Transit van.
“The woman was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries to her knee and a graze to her cheek.”
The accident did not cause any major traffic disruption.

The accident did not cause any major traffic disruption.
You mean they didn't close the road for 79 hours in order to carry out a fingertip forensic examination to gather the necessary evidence to charge the van driver with causing Paul Hepworth to get excited by dangerous driving?
Blimey!
