SHOPPERS will be given a musical backdrop to their Christmas buying sprees in the centre of York tomorrow – courtesy of Huge.
The popular band, fronted by Ian Donaghy – aka Big Ian – will be performing a string of top tunes outside the Marks & Spencer store in Parliament Street between midday and 3pm.
They will be running through songs from the likes of Amy Winehouse, The Who, Queen, Take That and Stevie Wonder, as well as collecting money for St Leonard’s Hospice.
“Playing in town at this time of year is always superb,” said Ian.
“The place is heaving and everybody is up for a break from the chaos.
The band will also be playing York’s Grand Opera House on January 24 and 31 and tickets are selling fast, but can be booked by phoning 0844 847 2322.
