THE end of term was one big party for these pupils at Applefields Special School in York.
For the second year running the school, in Bad Bargain Lane, held a prom for Year 11 and post-16 graduates and head teacher George Gilmore heralded the event as a “huge success”.
He said: “On the back of the success of last year’s event, we decided to hold a prom this year and the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“It’s now become a permanent fixture on the school calendar and something that the students really look forward to.
“We had a local band, the Manic Street Teachers, providing the entertainment and the evening went with a real swing.”
There were prizes for best dressed male and female on the night which this year went to Lee Gurden and Hannah Sawyer.
